Santa Luce Santa Luce has maintained intact its character as a fortified hill town having a castle or fortress at its centre. Its name comes from the nearby, ancient, parish church. Santa Luce, as a feudal castle belonging to the Cadolingi of Fucecchio, came under the ecclesiastic jurisdiction of the Archbishop of Pisa like the other Pisan hill towns. The parish church of Santa Luce is also known as the church of St Angelo or Santa Luce of the Hills. Restaurants and shops for all basic necessities can be found in the town. |
