Ponteginori Ponteginori is a recently-built town on the right bank of the River Cecina. Its name comes from the bridge which Count Ginori had built over the river between 1831 and 1835 where it joins the Trossa. It has grown in importance since the beginning of the 20th century when the Solvay chemical company began exploiting the rock salt beds in which the Cecina Valley is particularly rich. |
