Pomarance
 Pomarance is a little town in the center of a region with a great historich and artistic interest (Pisa, Siena, Volterra, Firenze, Livorno, Massa Marittima), in the Tuscany Alta Maremma called The Metalliferous Hills. Its name is not very famous but the town is rich in archeological, natural and artistic treasures.
Pomarance, former Ripomarance Castle, is known starting from the 10th Century A.D. Today the town still keeps the ancient structure with the walls of the castle, the gates, the buildings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and the San Giovanni Battista old Romanesque church.
Pomarance has the highest number of hamlets in its comune in whole Tuscany. One of these is the near San Dalmazio which boasts two important ruins: the Pieve of San giovanni and the Rocca Sillana.
The first was built in the 10th century and is a rare example of Norman-Romanesque architecture. Like similar pievi it stands in a lonely place of silent fascination.
The lonely and impressive Rocca di Sillano dominates the valley of the Cecina River and the Pavone Stream, it was built in the 11th century.
